The Future of MP3 Player
April 1st, 2009I still remember 7 years ago, when I was a student, I was so desired to buy an MP3 player. But just two years later, I found that I was surrounded by people plugged into their MP3 player. This cool gadget has clearly replaced the CD player as a more convenient and usable form of portable entertainment. But now, 7 years past, what will happen to the MP3 player in the future? Will it be resigned just like CD player, or will it go from strength to strength and continue to be the darling of our pockets?
Obviously, in the fiercely market, MP3 player will have an enlarged memory. This memory however is less likely to be the hard discs that have been used in the past. Instead portable memory in the future is likely to be flash based. This is because flash not only accesses information faster, but flash drives are far more robust that hard drive varieties.
One of the biggest challenges for manufacturers of MP3 players is the battle between with the phone companies. Now the mobile phone companies often include game software in the phones. The result is devices that have WiFi connectivity to allow users easy access to music online.
Some market experts believe that the MP3 player market will grow. I think the most important factor is that in the coming years the devices will become considerably cheaper.
A great deal of what is being discussed here is already in existence within the industry. Naturally companies have realised that an mp3 player that purely plays music is likely to be superseded within two to five years. The result has been a large number of devices hitting the market that are able to combine a number of different features and media types. Subsequently consumers now have players that cater for all of their needs, no matter the environment or personal preference.
